Seed Stich Scarf 1Materials:      

Yarn size 4

Any color

Needles size 8

A seed stitch scarf is very simple and fast to knit. Follow the bellow steps

For this scarf I have used Deborah Norville Collection “Everyday soft worsted” Anti-pilling yarn. It is washable & dryable, the color is aubergine. I will use only one yarn that is equals to 203 yards (186 meters)

Step 1                 First row: Cast-On 39 stitches (this has to be an odd number 31, plus 4 stitches for each side) Using the   Long-Tail Cast-On

Step 2                 Second row: Knit all the stitches all across row (here you are going to hide the tail yarn by knitting (or purling) together with your working yarn.

Step 3                 Third row: Knit all the stitches all across row

Step 4                 Fourth row: Knit all the stitches all across row

Step 5                 Fifth row: Knit the first three stitches, purl one

Step 6                 knit one stitch, purl one stitch, repeat this step all across row, until you have four stitches left

Step 7                  Purl one stitch, Knit the last three stitches

Step 8                 Sixth row: Knit the first five stitches

Step 9                 Purl one stitch, knit one stitch, repeat this step all across  row, until you have four stitches left

Step 10               Knit the last four stitches

Step 11                Repeat step 5 through step 10, twenty-one or twenty-two times, depending on which

one is the wrong side, because your next row has to be knitting in the right side (you will identify the right side if you see a knitted line of stitches in the fourth stitch line check the diagram) You will use  this same diagram to form a diagonal purl line of two row between each pattern.

Step 12               For this row: Knit all the stitches all across row

 

Step 13               For this row: Knit three stitches, purl one stitch (first picture), knit thirty-one stitches,

purl one stitch, knit the last three stitches one (second picture).

Step 14               For this row: Knit the first four stitches (first picture), purl thirty-one stitches, Knit the last four stitches (second picture).

Step 15               For this row: Knit the three first stitches, purl thirty-three stitches, Knit the last three stitches

Step 16               For this row: Repeat step 8 through step 10

 

Step 17               For this row: Repeat step 5 through step 7

Step 18              Repeat step 16 and step 17, twenty-one or twenty-two times (depending on which one

is the wrong side, because your next row has to be knitting in the right side)

Step 19               Repeat step 12 through step 18, until you finish with the desire length

 

Step 20                After finished the last row you will bind-off.   Using the Standard Binding Off
