Keyhole Scarf

Keyhole Scarf is one of the most recent fashion scarfs. This keyhole scarf is a very elegant accessory.  After you make your own scarf you will be in love, because if you follow the below steps you will see is easy to knit and as soon you get it will be faster.

Needles: Size 8 and size 4 (you will change the needles four times)

Yarn: Size 4. If you use the same yarn I have use you will have enough with one for your scarf.

Step 1.    First row:  You will star using needles size 8. Create a slipknot this will be your first stitch then Cast on two more stitches by,

                         a.   Knit the first stitch(see first picture), but you do not let the old stitch get out (see second picture)

  •             b.   Return the right needle stitch to your left needle (knit twist, back on the needle)

 c.    Repeat letter a and letter b one more time. Now you will have 3 stitches.

Step 2.     Second row: Knit all the stitches across row.

Step 3.     Third row: You will knit one stitch from both sides (by knitting through the front twist then by knitting through the back in the same stitch) of the stitch creating two stitches from one,

Step 4.     Knit the next stich only by the front,

Step 5.     Repeat step 3.

Step 6.     Fourth row: Slip the first stitch without knitting (only pass the stitch from your left needle to your right needle without knitting) then knit by the front the rest of the stitches across row with an exception of the last stitch you will knit this from the back of the stitch.

Step 7.      Fifth row: slip the first stitch

Step 8.     You will knit the second stitch from both sides (by knitting through the front then by knitting through the back in the same stitch) of the stitch creating two stitches from one,

Step 9.     Knit the next stitches until you have two stitches left

Step 10.   You will knit the second to the last stitch from both sides (by knitting through the front then by knitting through the back in the same stitch) of the stitch creating two stitches from one,

Step 11.     Knit the last stitch from the back

Step 12.     Sixth row: Repeat step 6 through 11 until you have a total of 29 stitches.

Step 13.     Slip the first stitch without knitting (only pass the stitch from your left needle to your right needle, then knit by the front the rest of the stitches across row leaving the last stitch you will knit this from the back of the stitch. Repeat this step six more rows (you will have 7 rows of 29 stitches)

 

Step 14.      For this row you will change the needles to size 4, and then you will knit one, purl one across row.

Step 15.      For this row you will purl one, knit one

Step 16.      Repeat step 14 and step 15 until you have 6 rows

Step 17.       For this row you will knit one, purl one (see the picture)
